Wistman's Wood
Wistman's Wood is one of the few remnants of the ancient forest that covered all of Dartmoor until 7000 BC, in that its like Fangorn Forest or The Old Forest in 'The Lord of the Rings' Its name comes from the word' wisht' which means eerie/uncanny or pixie haunted.
